Immigrant Family Safety Planning Guides are now available in 8 languages.

Friend –

We won't sugarcoat it: times are tough, and the political landscape for immigrants in our country is bleak. While immigration enforcement continues to look different for Alaska compared to the rest of the country, news stories and reports from family and loved ones in the Lower 48 are scary and are a direct threat to the rights of immigrants and citizens alike.

The best thing that people can do right now to push back on the Trump Administration's deportation regime is to know your rights and be prepared if ICE detains you or someone you know.

The ACLU of Alaska has developed a Family Safety Planning Guide <[link removed]> to support families in the event of an immigration emergency. The guide outlines how to identify where your loved one might be held, and how to prepare important documents and information in case you are arrested by ICE.

The Family Safety Planning Guide has now been translated into eight different languages, including Spanish, Korean, Hmong, Russian, Samoan, Tagalog, Ukrainian, and Arabic. Access the guides on our website. <[link removed]>

It's crucial that we support immigrant families in our state with the resources they need to be prepared for emergencies that may arise.

Stay tuned for more resources for immigrants in Alaska.
