This shutdown didn’t have to happen.

Republicans had every chance to work with Democrats on a realistic budget that protected health care and kept the government open. Instead, Speaker Johnson cancelled votes, skipped town, and left families to deal with the fallout.

Now they’re pointing fingers, hoping Americans will forget who’s responsible for this mess. But we see through it. Their dysfunction is hurting our country, and it’s going to take all of us working together to hold them accountable.
