After Arizona Congressman Raúl Grijalva passed away while in office, his daughter Adelita Grijalva won the special election to replace him in Congress.

This was weeks ago.

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson is refusing to swear her into office – leaving Arizona’s 7th District in limbo. It is important to note that she would be the 218th and deciding signature on the bipartisan effort to release the Epstein files.

Instead of swearing in a duly-elected public servant, Johnson is putting his loyalty to Trump ahead of the Constitution. This is happening as he refuses to call Republicans back to Washington to stop the government shutdown, and as military and other federal employees are set to miss their next paychecks.
