This is ridiculous, Climate Champion. Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to gut the longstanding Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program – the US government’s primary way of tracking greenhouse gases.

The program currently requires thousands of polluting facilities to annually disclose their emissions, giving scientists and policymakers essential data and providing transparency around the largest contributors of climate pollution.

This data is more important than ever. Tell EPA to keep the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program in effect.

TAKE ACTION

Even trade groups representing major polluters like the American Petroleum Institute and America’s Power have stated they don’t oppose these reporting requirements.

So, who is this proposal benefiting? Not Americans.

Without this mandated reporting, getting accurate levels of greenhouse gas emissions to track progress – or lack thereof – will be more challenging. At a time when we need to be focusing on advancing climate solutions, the government is still trying to cover up the facts.
