My name is Shelby Kestler, and I’m so excited to introduce myself as Progressive Maryland’s new Development Director! Joining this incredible team has already been such an inspiring experience, and I couldn’t have picked a better moment to come on board than our 25th Anniversary.
Born and raised in Baltimore, I’ve spent my career helping strengthen progressive campaigns and organizations across the country. Before joining Progressive Maryland, I have worked at LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, the Human Rights Campaign and on campaigns with candidates such as Congressman Jamie Raskin. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on building lasting relationships and growing movements that make real change, and I’m thrilled to bring that passion home to Maryland.
When I joined the Progressive Maryland staff, I knew I wanted to help make this year’s annual gala something truly special, a celebration worthy of 25 years of organizing, advocacy, and victories for working families across the state. And we’ve set out to do just that.
On Thursday, November 13, 2025, in Columbia, Maryland, we’ll be hosting an unforgettable evening filled with great food, an open bar, amazing speakers, and plenty of opportunities to connect with progressive activists, community leaders, and elected officials from across Maryland.
