A Note from the Executive Director

As we navigate the challenges presented by the current government
shutdown, I’m writing to you today with a message of resolve.

While many operations in Glacier National Park have been
temporarily suspended, our commitment to supporting our park
partners is as strong as ever.

During this time, the Glacier National Park Conservancy is
focused on our mission to raise critical funds for the park. We
want to ensure that when our dedicated partners in the National
Park Service can return, we are ready to support their work to
preserve and protect this incredible place.

While the park remains accessible, please be aware that without
staff on duty, visitor services are unavailable. Visitors should
be self-sufficient, responsible for their own safety, and mindful
to practice Leave No Trace.

This moment is a powerful reminder of how much Glacier National
Park means to all of us. Your dedication ensures that Glacier
remains a source of inspiration and wonder for generations to
come.

With gratitude,

A man smiling on a sunny day.

Doug Mitchell

The Courage to Climb by Paige

Paige looks up at mountains
( [link removed] )Every
summer the GNPC family grows when seasonal employees join our
retail team.

As they wrap up their seasons with us, we asked some of them to
reflect on their experience for our Employee Feature blog

.

In this edition, Paige reflects on finding courage and
connection:

"One of the most valuable things I’ve learned is that courage is
often found in the space between your limitations and the
mountain peak in front of you. Whether your mountain peak is
trying something new, the unknown nature of the future, working a
Logan shift on a rainy day in peak July, moving to a new place,
or raising money for invaluable work in the park, you are more
than capable..."Keep reading on our website!

Glacier Book Club:
Grizzly Confidential with author Kevin Grange

Grizzly Confidential follows Kevin Grange, a former paramedic and
park ranger, on his journey to understand North America’s most
formidable predator, the grizzly bear. From the misty island of
giant bears to cutting-edge research on hibernation, Grange
encounters scientists, activists, and even the darker sides of
wildlife trade. His adventure leads him to a remote part of
Alaska where humans peacefully coexist with the largest gathering
of brown bears. Part science, part travelogue, Grange’s story is
both an exploration of grizzlies and a passionate call for their
conservation.
