Save America Movement

JOHN,

Ryan Busse here — Montanan, hunter, dad, and proud member of the Save America Movement steering committee.

On October 6, the White House announced: “President Donald J. Trump Approves Ambler Road Project to Unlock Alaska’s Mineral Potential.” It read like a boilerplate project. It’s anything but.

Ambler Road is a 211-mile industrial haul road blasted through the Brooks Range — one of the last truly wild places on earth. Federal agencies concluded in 2024 that building it would cause “irreparable harm” to permafrost, fish habitat, and the Western Arctic Caribou Herd. Native communities, outdoor businesses, and more than 135,000 Americans opposed it. Eighty-nine tribes and First Nations submitted statements warning of cultural and ecological devastation.

Trump reversed all of it — not for science or national interest, but for vindictiveness and greed.

  • He bragged about undoing the prior decision because Biden “wasted time.”
  • The ore will be shipped to China for processing.
  • The windfall goes to Trilogy Metals — a foreign mining outfit that spiked in value after Trump’s announcement.
  • And the bill will be paid by the American people and our public lands.

I’ve spent my life on and around America’s wild ground. I know what it means to take a kid into elk country or watch grayling rise on a creek you hiked all day to reach. The Ambler carve-up is a long, rusty shiv in the side of everything that makes those places sacred — for subsistence hunters, for tribes, for anglers, for anyone who believes public lands are a trust, not a loot chest.

This is why I joined the Save America Movement: to confront authoritarian power and corporate plunder in real time — and to fight where the fight actually is. The only way we stop this is by defeating MAGA in 2026 and again in 2028.

If you want to save ALL of America alongside a movement that won’t blink and knows how to punch above its weight, join me in supporting the Save America Movement with a donation of any size today.

This isn’t abstract policy. It’s actually quite straightforward. It’s salmon streams that will be culverted and silted. It’s caribou migration corridors severed by heavy haul traffic. It’s villages losing access to food and sacred ground. And it’s a precedent: if they can bulldoze the Brooks, no public land is safe.

Every acre of public land is now at risk under this administration. If they will do this to the wildest places in America, they’ll do it to your park, they’ll poison your river, they’ll make your air more deadly for you and your children.

Donate $5, $25, or $50 today to help us run the ads, organize the coalition, and stop the sell-off.

Public lands are a promise to our kids, to each other, to the generations who will never forgive us if we let this go. Let’s keep that promise.

For wild country and the people who love it,
Ryan Busse
