The Department of Justice should be pursuing accountability, cracking down on corruption, and defending the Constitution. But under this administration, the DOJ is a tool for attacking enemies and covering up wrongdoing.

John,

Attorney General Pam Bondi appeared at her first oversight hearing after nine months of her stewardship of the Justice Department.

It was urgent — after all, hundreds of career prosecutors have quit because of the politicization of the Justice Department and the fear that they might have to take unethical actions at the direction of Trump and Bondi.

We’ve seen the DOJ cover up the corruption of the administration and its friends — like the WH Border Czar taking $50,000 in cash from undercover FBI agents. Or the corruption case against the Mayor of NYC. Or the Epstein files.

And we’ve seen the department prosecute the president’s enemies at the president’s urging — like James Comey — even though career prosecutors said the case lacked evidence.

John, it’s safe to say Pam Bondi was not too pleased with my line of questioning. Don’t just take it from me, look at some of the headlines from the hearing:

John, the Department of Justice has become Trump’s personal sword to go after his ever-growing list of political enemies, including me. And his shield to cover up corruption and hide wrongdoing.

And Pam Bondi has enabled this behavior.

Instead of going after Tom Homan, Trump’s border czar, for taking the 50 thousand in cash, the DOJ shut down the investigation.

When I asked Attorney General Bondi about this, she deflected responsibility. Said she didn’t know or wouldn’t comment about the case. She said that I should be fired. John, she even said I should apologize to Donald Trump for leading his first impeachment trial.

Not gonna happen.

The Department of Justice should be pursuing accountability, cracking down on corruption, and defending the Constitution. But under this administration, the DOJ is a tool for attacking enemies and covering up wrongdoing.

I will continue to use my position on the Judiciary Committee to conduct hard oversight and demand concrete answers. I will call out corruption and speak out against any and every attempt to weaponize our legal system against Trump’s political opponents. I will not give in, and not back down.

Please, help me and The Majority Rules stand up to this corruption — pitch in to our work demanding accountability.

We're focused on making sure everyone who's able to vote, can vote. We use your donations to promote state and federal candidates and initiatives across the US to achieve fair elections.

This year is going to be huge in the fight for fair elections! We have seen that voting rights and the integrity of our elections continue to be under attack. Some candidates and organizations have continued to use shady, undemocratic tactics to suppress voters. It's time to fight back!
