Dear John,
There are many ways in which Housing Finance Authorities (HFAs) support shared equity housing programs to increase the number of homes with lasting affordability in their states. On Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 3–4 pm ET, Grounded Solutions Network will host Colorado Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) and Minnesota Housing Finance Agency (Minnesota Housing) to discuss the vital role they play in scaling homes with lasting affordability by supporting both production and buyers.
CHFA CEO, Thomas Bryan, will discuss a new financial product his organization is rolling out, Drive It Home [[link removed]]. This product provides below-market interest rate loans for construction financing and mortgages. You’ll learn about the inspiration for this innovative public finance tool, the journey to launch it, and the anticipated impact.
You’ll also hear from Tal Anderson, Community Development Manager at Minnesota Housing, about how the Community Homeownership Impact Fund continues to spur development of homes with lasting affordability, awarding 40% of the competitive bid to community land trusts throughout Minnesota. Anderson will also give a retrospective on transitioning Minnesota Housing’s CLT mortgage product from a portfolio product to utilizing a master servicer to leverage Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae’s shared equity loan requirements.
