US Supreme Court skeptical toward Colorado LGBT 'conversion therapy' ban -- REUTERS
John,
In a stunning admission, Justice Clarence Thomas said some of the Court’s most important decisions may have been nothing more than “something somebody dreamt up and others went along with.”
Now, for the first time, the Supreme Court is considering a petition explicitly asking them to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges — the 2015 ruling that guaranteed marriage rights to all. If they succeed, outdated marriage bans in more than half of U.S. states would snap back into effect overnight.
And it’s not just marriage equality under threat. The Court’s growing hostility toward LGBTQ+ rights is on full display — just this week, the Justices signaled skepticism toward Colorado’s ban on so-called “conversion therapy", creating a dangerous environment for LGBTQ+ kids.
The message couldn’t be clearer: the threat to equality is real, and it’s growing stronger. Every dollar you give will help elect pro-choice, pro-equality LGBTQ+ leaders who can stand up to this Court and defend our hard-won rights. Donate today to protect equality!
We cannot afford to sit back and hope this Court will protect us. We must fight back — and that fight starts with you.
Thank you for supporting this essential work,
