World Food Day: One Week Out and Counting

For 40+ years, October 16 has been recognized as World Food Day in more than 150 countries across the globe. Founded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to highlight the importance of global food security, this day has become one of the most celebrated days on the UN calendar. It raises critical awareness about hunger, malnutrition, sustainable agriculture and the rights of all people to have access to sufficient, nutritious food.
And since food security makes up the very heartbeat of our mission at Rise Against Hunger, it should come as no surprise that World Food Day is one of our most celebrated days all year, too! It’s also one we’ve come to rely on heavily each year to support our vital efforts.
That’s why, starting today, we’re setting out to raise $25,000 in honor of World Food Day to empower our critical global programs that equip underserved communities with nutrition, education and economic opportunity. All so they can Rise Against Hunger.
Change starts with one day. And that one day has the power to change lives and ignite paths toward food sustainability — not just for one person or family, but for entire communities. We’re asking you to GIVE your most meaningful gift to help us get one step closer to a world without hunger!
Join the global movement this World Food Day as we unite collectively for a future without hunger!
