Every autism journey is unique, but for many families, it begins with love, courage and the hope of finding the right support. For Adriana M, a proud Latina mother from California, that journey started when her son Adan was diagnosed with level 2 autism at just two years old. Faced with limited resources and few culturally tailored services, Adriana quickly stepped into the role of advocate, determined to open doors for her son and ensure he had every opportunity to redefine possible.
Today, Adan is in high school and preparing for the next chapter of his life, dreaming of independence and a future filled with possibility. This Hispanic Heritage Month, Autism Speaks is honored to celebrate families like Adriana and Adan’s, whose stories remind us of the immense pride and strong familial ties within the Hispanic community. |
