John, I just stepped offstage, and I wanted to quickly reach out.
On that debate stage, it was clear Jack Ciattarelli thinks he can flip New Jersey red by attacking me with one lie after another about my record — and trying to hide the facts about his own.
But tonight, I fought back. I laid out my vision for our future directly to the people of New Jersey: a future in which families get desperately needed relief from rising utility bills, grocery bills, and health care costs, and in which defending the freedoms of New Jersey families comes before doing the bidding of ANY politician or president.
And I set the record straight for the people of New Jersey, John.
When Jack tried to spread more of the same tired falsehoods, I stood proudly behind my record of serving our nation in uniform — something Jack never did.
And when he attempted to mislead people about his long track record of trying to raise costs on hardworking families, I reminded the people of New Jersey that, just last week, Jack’s running mate said new taxes would be “on the table” in their administration for everyone in our state except millionaires.
John, I hope I made you proud tonight, and I’m so grateful for your support. We could never have gotten this far without the tireless work of this grassroots team — and I’m truly honored to have you standing with me.
But our work isn’t finished yet. With the last debate behind us, we’re officially in the final sprint to Election Day — and we need to give it everything we’ve got if we’re going to get our message out and persuade undecided voters to back us in the end. If you’re with me, I have to ask: Can you split a few dollars between my campaign and Maggie Hassan? Whoever wins these final weeks will win the race, John, and we’ve come too far to slow down now.
