Folks, back in 2019, Donald Trump himself signed into law my legislation to guarantee backpay to federal workers during shutdowns.
I negotiated that deal while our government was shut down for a record 35 days — putting the livelihoods of millions of federal workers at risk through no fault of their own.
Now, Trump is floating the idea that only “some” workers should get backpay — and his Office of Management and Budget is even deleting references to that 2019 law in their shutdown guidance.

This is just ridiculous. Federal workers shouldn’t be punished because the President refuses to come to the negotiating table!
Add your name today to speak out with me: Federal workers deserve backpay during government shutdowns. [[link removed]]

It’s the law, and it’s the right thing to do.
Thanks for raising your voice.
More to come,
