The federal government is still shut down — because Republicans are willing to let healthcare costs skyrocket to pay for billionaire tax cuts.

I was elected to deliver for the people of CT-05 — but Donald Trump, Mike Johnson, and congressional Republicans have a very different agenda.

The result: A government shutdown. Increased healthcare costs. Potential delays to veterans’ benefits and nutrition assistance. Critical services halted. Hundreds of thousands of workers will go unpaid.

It is just plain wrong.

John, trust that I am doing all that I can to reopen the government and enact policies that will make life more affordable for our hard-working families.

Republicans might try to get in the way of that work — but I will fight back. Nothing is going to get in the way of working on behalf of my constituents.
