These changes are not based on science. They are political maneuvers designed to block access to abortion and strip people of their rights.
Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has already cited flawed, politically motivated studies to justify an FDA safety review. That review is being weaponized to undermine more than 20 years of safe use. If advanced, millions will lose access to one of the safest and most widely used abortion methods in the country.
Senators must resist this manufactured crisis. Science, not ideology, needs to guide FDA decisions. Every delay and every concession to anti-abortion politicians increases the risk of losing access nationwide.
