Maryland’s universities are facing a crisis. The Trump administration has cut nearly $120 million in federal research funding, threatening programs, jobs, and the future of students across the state.
At the University of Maryland, Baltimore, 37 grants totaling $48 million were eliminated. College Park lost 60 grants worth $30 million, and Baltimore County lost 30 grants totaling $22 million. These cuts endanger the educational pipeline that trains our workforce, supports innovation, and drives our economy.
I’ve been fighting back. As Maryland’s Attorney General, I’ve taken the Trump administration to court to defend these critical resources and ensure that our universities can continue to educate students, advance research, and create good jobs.
But I can’t do it alone. The Trump administration is relentless, and we need a strong, independent Attorney General to keep holding them accountable.
Will you chip in $25 or more to my reelection campaign to help me fight for Maryland’s universities, our students, and the future of our state?
