Politics in a Nutshell
Miller-Meeks, swing-district Iowa Republican, says she’ll hold town halls ‘when hell freezes over’ | CNN Politics [[link removed]]
Constituents have been asking Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Iowa’s Republican Representative in the 1st District, to host a town hall for months. Her answer? She’ll host a town hall: “When Hell freezes over.”
Ashley Hinson Spends Shutdown at Expensive NRSC Convention [[link removed]]
Republican Representative Ashley Hinson is in hot water during the shutdown. Instead of staying in D.C. to help create a compromise to keep the government running, she’s been spotted on a private island off the coast of Georgia schmoozing with her Republican donor buddies. It must be nice to relax in luxury while the rest of us are forced to deal with the consequences of her actions. We wish Rep. Hinson a wonderful vacation.
Representatives on the Record
Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks (202) 225-6576
Why isn’t Mariannette Miller-Meeks in Washington D.C. fighting to pass a funding bill? Why is she back in Iowa when the job she was elected to do, be our Representative, is unfinished? Why won't she agree to a bill that won't raise Iowans’ health care premiums?
Representative Ashley Hinson (202) 225-2911
Why isn’t Ashley Hinson in Washington D.C. fighting to pass a funding bill? Why would she take a trip to a private island in Georgia when the job she was elected to do, be our Representative, is unfinished? Why won't she agree to a bill that won't raise Iowans’ health care premiums?
Representative Zach Nunn (515) 400-8180
Why isn’t Zach Nunn in Washington D.C. fighting to pass a funding bill? Why is he back in Iowa when the job he was elected to do, be our Representative, is unfinished? Why won't he agree to a bill that won't raise Iowans' health care premiums?

Why isn’t Randy Feenstra in Washington D.C. fighting to pass a funding bill? Why is he back in Iowa when the job he was elected to do, be our Representative, is unfinished? Why won't he agree to a bill that won't raise Iowans’ health insurance premiums?

Note From the Chair
Hey folks! Rita Hart here.
The shutdown continues. What are Iowa Republicans doing while essential workers go without pay and our healthcare is on the line? Anything but their jobs.
Miller-Meeks is making good on her promise that she’s only going to host a town hall for her constituents ‘ when hell freezes over [[link removed]] .’ Feenstra was spotted at a Republican fundraising event [[link removed]] , and Hinson has fled D.C. and Iowa to go on a luxury trip to a private island [[link removed]] off the coast of Georgia. Meanwhile, Zach Nunn seems to be hiding.
Iowa’s out-of-touch Republicans are doing anything they can to spike the price of the health care premiums for millions of Americans. To hide the unpopularity of this move, the Republicans are lying and claiming that these credits go to illegal immigrants. This is utter nonsense; illegal immigrants aren’t eligible to get healthcare through the ACA.
Our healthcare is on the line, and Democrats are fighting for it every step of the way. If you or your family could be impacted by rising ACA rates, tell us your story here: Storyteller Sign-Up Form [[link removed]]
Iowa Republicans are leaving working folks in the dust. It is getting harder and harder to make ends meet and Republicans are not doing anything to lower costs. Iowans deserve better. We need to elect leaders who will step up and make sure working families are getting the necessary medical care that allows them to live healthy lives. Rita Hart
