Dear John - It’s Time to Write, Like and Follow!
A recent Morris county poll asked residents “what are your main sources for news on current events?” Two of the the answers surprised me:
The top answer, at 41%, was social media and websites where news is shared (such as Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram); and
And in fourth place, at 29%, was local newspapers and websites (such as NJ.com, Morris Focus, TapInto, New Jersey Hills, Daily Record, or Patch)
This means we all have two great tools to help spread the word about the excellent candidates running for office here in Morris County.
First, we’re asking you to like and follow our Morris County Dems social media channels, and amplify the content we share. It’s a great way to discover more about events, fundraisers, and candidates.

Second, we encourage you to write “Letters to the Editor” in support of candidates you like, from school board right on up to Governor. It's a powerful way to publicly support your pick and inspire others to get involved. Some outlets include:

MESSAGING
IF YOU SAY ONE THING TODAY
* Jack Ciattarelli is all for Trump’s budget that decimates Medicaid, rips away healthcare, and blows a $3.6 billion hole into our state budget. He’s even dismissed this as not even a real problem [[link removed]] in New Jersey.
* He thinks the Affordable Care Act, which has allowed more than one million New Jerseyans to get healthcare coverage, “ has failed [[link removed]] .”
* Jack said: “ There is no doubt that Obamacare needs to be repealed and replaced [[link removed]] .”
* And at a time when New Jerseyans’ monthly premiums are set to more than double if they get their care through the ACA, Jack’s doing what he always does – standing with Donald Trump and screwing over regular people in this state.
* We need a governor who will protect healthcare. That’s Mikie Sherrill.
* As governor, Mikie will fight to increase transparency in healthcare pricing, increase access to preventative/primary healthcare services, and protect New Jerseyans from Trump’s devastating cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act.
IF YOU READ ONE (or two) THINGs THIS WEEK
Philadelphia Inquirer [[link removed]] : Who this GOP group wants — and doesn’t want — to see its N.J. governor’s race ads
A pro-Ciattarelli super PAC excluded disproportionately nonwhite areas from its YouTube attack ads…Passaic was intentionally excluded from the super PAC [supporting Jack]’s audience across four attack ad buys…
These earlier summer ad buys also excluded women and people ages 45 and older, suggesting that the PAC was going for young, white, male voters.
Democratic entities, meanwhile, have been putting out Spanish language ads, a move that Change NJ and Ciattarelli’s campaign haven’t yet made.
Mikie Sherrill for Governor Memo [[link removed]] : Four Weeks to Election Day: The Momentum is with Mikie as Jack Crashes Out
When Fox News (!) releases a poll showing Mikie beating Jack by 8 points, you know that we are exactly where we need to be to win.
As we head into the final four weeks of the gubernatorial race, the momentum is with Mikie — in polling, fundraising, and sustained energy on the ground.
The Mikie Sherrill for Governor campaign is firing on all cylinders and ready to close strong on November 4. Meanwhile, Jack’s campaign is crashing out.
