John,

I voted NO on the bill for Charlie Kirk Remembrance Day.

I condemn political violence in the strongest possible terms. No one should lose their life because of their speech, and my heart goes out to the Kirk family and all of those impacted by political violence.

But frankly, this bill would rewrite history. Charlie Kirk effectively used his platform to divide people, spread misinformation, and fan the flames of political anger. To celebrate his legacy would be dishonest and a disservice to other victims of political violence, whom Kirk himself mocked.

We can grieve tragedy without erasing the truth.

I’ll always condemn political violence in every form and protect free speech. But I refuse to, and Congress should not canonize a political influencer who regularly sowed division and hatred through political discourse

I’ll keep standing for accountability, decency, and honest leadership, even when it’s uncomfortable.
