Dear friends,

Thank you for being a supporter of 350 Chicago and the work we do to fight the climate crisis in Illinois. After succeeding in getting Chicago to divest from fossil fuels, we’ve recently also accomplished the following:

• Launched our Climate Safe Pensions Illinois coalition to divest the state of Illinois from fossil fuels, forming a coalition of 30 plus groups across the state to advocate for the policy.

• Exposed investor-owned utilities for charging bill payers for their lobbying activities without proper disclosure, giving voice to bill payers statewide and seeking to make utility bills more affordable.

• Celebrated clean, affordable energy by co-producing the Sun Day Solar Fest with our partners at Third Act Illinois on September 21st. Bill McKibben recently pointed out that solar energy is now “the Costco of energy: cheap, on the shelf, and available in bulk, ready to go.”

• Worked with the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition to support clean energy policies to bring down energy costs in the state and fight the climate crisis.
