In case you missed it, John —
Yesterday, we endorsed three powerful community leaders in Mississippi’s upcoming special elections. With less than a month until Election Day, we’re going all in to flip these three seats from red to blue.
Last year, a federal court ruled that Mississippi’s legislative maps violated the Voting Rights Act, finding that Republicans had intentionally diluted Black voting power. For years, those illegal districts denied fair representation.
On November 4th, Mississippians will have a real shot to elect leaders who reflect their communities — and if we do our job right, we can break the GOP supermajority in the state senate and make major gains in the house.
Too often red states like Mississippi are written off, John. But this time, the playing field is different — and with your help, Democrats can win where we’ve been counted out for too long.
Keep reading to learn more about our Mississippi candidate endorsements. But if you’re ready to help us elect these champions, click here to split a contribution. With less than one month to go, every dollar is crucial.

Justin Crosby (House District 22)
A lifelong Mississippian and community advocate, Justin Crosby brings a people-first approach grounded in integrity and service. Justin stands firmly for fair wages, affordable healthcare, fully funded public schools, and economic opportunity for all families in the district. His opponent switched parties after being elected as a Democrat, leaving voters behind.
Johnny DuPree (Senate District 45)
A respected public servant with decades of experience, Johnny DuPree served as Hattiesburg’s first African-American mayor for 16 years, guiding the city through both growth and recovery after Hurricane Katrina. A champion for education, healthcare, and tax fairness, Johnny is running to ensure working Mississippians — not special interests — drive decision-making in Jackson. His opponent would continue to rubber-stamp the GOP’s regressive agenda.
Theresa Gillespie Isom (Senate District 2)
A nurse, educator, and community leader, Theresa Gillespie Isom has spent her life fighting for Mississippi families. She’s focused on building stronger schools, better jobs, and healthier communities so every Mississippian can thrive. Meanwhile, her opponent is ignoring low wages, unaffordable healthcare, and underfunded schools — choosing instead to protect the wealthy through tax breaks.
Across the country, Republicans are using state legislatures to manipulate maps to cling to power.
In Mississippi, Justin, Johnny, and Theresa are leading the fight for fair representation and a government that works for working families. Their victories will make one thing clear: representation delayed does not have to mean representation denied.
John, we can make history in Mississippi this November — will you split a contribution and help our candidates in Mississippi cross the finish line?
