Dear Mr. xxxxxx,

Government Shutdown

Three weeks ago, I voted on and supported a continuing resolution to fund the federal government until the end of November.

As of now, the federal government is shut down because Senate Democrats have allowed funding to lapse by refusing to pass the continuing resolution. They continue to fight for demands that go against the priorities of taxpayers – including free healthcare for illegal aliens and to extend COVID-era subsidies that enrich insurance companies.

For as long as I am in Washington, I will fight for the values of taxpayers and continue to put you first. Watch my interview with my friend Will Cain on Fox discussing the government shutdown here or below:

Demanding Answers from Texas Christian University (TCU)

Last week, it was reported that Texas Christian University (TCU) was blocking a Turning Point USA event on campus featuring Chloe Cole – a prominent activist who fights against gender-affirming care following her own detransition.

While TCU has stated that the event was not “canceled” but rather never formally booked due to space constraints, the situation raises important questions about the policies governing student and guest speaker access and to campus facilities.

That is why I am pushing for answers from TCU. Parents and students deserve assurance that their dollars are supporting education, not subsidizing censorship by omission or policy design.

Pressing Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport

On September 26, 2025, Pastor Tom Ascol publicly recounted a troubling incident at the Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) Meadows Interfaith Chapel where he responded to an airport-wide announcement inviting passengers to a "prayer service" in the chapel, explicitly stating that "all are welcome.” However, upon arrival, he found the space occupied by an Imam-led Muslim prayer, complete with prayer rugs and participants. According to his account, he was denied access to the chapel and seemingly barred from practicing his faith.

Due to these troubling reports, I demanded answers from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) CEO Chris McLaughlin about this clear violation of the first amendment. Taxpayers deserve complete transparency regarding the policies related to the chapels at DFW International Airport and whether their dollars are subsidizing exclusion based on religion.

Fentanyl Poisoning Awareness Month

Every October, the state of Texas recognizes the countless Texans who tragically lost their lives due to Fentanyl Poisoning.

Fentanyl — a deadly synthetic opioid — continues to plague communities across Texas. It is 50–100 times more potent than morphine — just 2 milligrams of fentanyl could be lethal, and just one pill can kill.

Together, we will save lives and protect Texans. Learn more at www.dps.texas.gov/onepillkills.
