Dear John,
Conservative Conference 2025 showed something Britain hasn’t seen for a while: a party with both the courage and the plan to fix our country.
We set out how a Conservative Government will build a stronger economy and stronger borders, restoring confidence, control and pride in our country. Our plan is bold, serious and rooted in Conservative values.
We will:
- ABOLISH STAMP DUTY, helping millions to own their own home, move, or downsize.
- Cut £47 billion of wasteful government spending and use the savings to cut taxes and slash the deficit under our Golden Economic Rule.
- Leave the ECHR so Parliament, not foreign courts, decides who comes to Britain.
- Double apprenticeships, giving young people real skills and proper careers.
- Reverse Labour’s chaos, protect our borders, and make work pay again.
This plan isn’t mine alone. It’s the product of a strong team working together.
My golden economic rule only works because Mel Stride and Helen Whately identified savings and tax cuts to grow our economy.
David Wolfson and Chris Philp worked out how we control our borders and leave the ECHR legally, safely and securely.
Rob Jenrick set out measures to end Two Tier Justice, and Laura Trott outlined how we will improve behaviour in schools.
Claire Coutinho’s Cheap Power Plan cuts bills for every household and Andrew Griffith’s plans to scrap red tape and cut business rates will help businesses all over the country.
Every shadow cabinet member played a part and I am grateful to them all. Unlike other parties, we are a strong team.
Every part of this programme has been built by people who know their brief, share our values, and are ready to govern from day one.
Finally, I want to thank everyone who is taking part in our Policy Renewal Programme. The ideas you contribute, the experiences you shared, and the honesty of your feedback have helped shaped the plan we unveiled at Conference.
This has been a real team effort with members, councillors, MPs, and activists working together to renew our Party and our country.
Conference was only the beginning. Now we take that message to every home and high street in Britain and I want you to be part of it.
We are the only party with the courage to act and the competence to deliver.
