Patriot friends, I have a daughter in college. Do you? If not, you've likely had a child or loved one attend at some point in time. It was very emotional for me to send my daughter away and trust her care to strangers. Thankfully, she's a sharp girl, wise to the world, and focused on her studies. The same could be said of Randee Hallmark. She sent her daughter to UNT. This is a conservative, Christian family in Oklahoma who raised their daughter right, said goodbye, and trusted the university for her safety. Obviously things did not work out very well for Mary-Catherine. When Mary-Catherine, a quiet girl normally who keeps to herself (much like my daughter), stood up to the students in her class who were mocking and celebrating the murder of Charlie Kirk, they turned on her. She received death threats and ostracization. The teacher asked her to leave. The campus police made her into the bad guy. She came onto our podcast and did a fantastic job sharing the horrors of her story. Watch it here. This quiet girl certainly has found her voice, and I'm so proud of her! She has refused to back down. Of course, her not backing down has only made things worse. UNT refused to do anything. They did offer a police escort to classes -- the same police who belittled her. All the while, the students doing the threatening have had no repercussions. Mary-Catherine is the one expected to adapt, not them. Does it make sense for her to have to walk across campus with a police officer, fearing for her life? Or to be forced to drop some classes altogether? Even the FBI has looked into this on their own accord when they heard about it, and they have warned UNT that this is a dangerous situation. And yet UNT has done nothing. They are presumably hoping it will just die out. NO PUN INTENDED. Does someone literally have to die before action will be taken??? True Texas Project, along with many, many politicians and influencers, has pressured UNT to remove those who have made death threats. We've also asked for the teacher and the President to be disciplined. It's all fallen on deaf ears. As a mom who has a daughter so much like Mary-Catherine... a mom who has given teary hugs goodbye... who has prayed countless heartfelt prayers of desperation for her protection... who is fully aware of the evils lurking on every college campus... I cannot back down here. I know you can relate. So we go to the next level. UNT doesn't care about the pressure? Let's see if they care about the money. I urge you to contact these two lists of alumni and suggest they write letters of their own to UNT, as well as cease all donations until UNT addresses our concerns. UNT Alumni Associations UNT Alumni individuals on Wikipedia A simple message alerting them to what's happened to Mary-Catherine and asking them to contact UNT and Gov Abbott would be great:
Dear UNT Alum, Hello, I'm contacting you to make sure you're aware of a situation that recently happened on the UNT campus. A student has been harassed and has received death threats after telling fellow classmates it was wrong to celebrate the murder of Charlie Kirk. Agree or not, this student should not have been asked to leave class, intimidated by campus police, and forced with no alternatives but to drop some classes. UNT refuses to discipline the students threatening her or the teacher who removed her from class. They have offered to have her escorted to classes by the same campus police who bullied her. That's it!
If this seems like an injustice to you... if you want UNT to do better... if you are embarrassed by your alma mater for letting this teenage girl from Oklahoma, who is alone on campus, live in fear... please contact UNT and Governor Abbott.

I will go one step further and ask that you let them know they will receive no donations from you until this issue is addressed property. Many politicians and influencers have already made these requests, and they have fallen on deaf ears. Maybe UNT will listen if it affects their bottom line.
Sincerely, __________
I just can't give up yet, guys. I'm doing this for my daughter and for yours. For the love of Texas, Julie McCarty, CEO True Texas Project PS. What message does it send to Mary-Catherine and those who would be brave like her if we get bored with the fight and give up? |
