Friend,
This month marks two years since the current conflict in Gaza began.
Since October 2023, more than 66,000 people have been killed, including more than 1,700 health workers. Over 168,000 people have been injured. The health care system in Gaza has collapsed. Nearly 100% of the population lives in poverty.
As of August of this year, famine was confirmed in Gaza City. Over 500,000 people are facing starvation, and another one million are at risk.
But through the heartbreak and destruction, Americares has been there – thanks to humanitarians like you.
Here’s what your support made possible:
-
35 tons of medicine and medical supplies delivered – including antibiotics, diabetes medication, hypertension drugs, hygiene kits and more
-
Enough medicine to fill 350,000 prescriptions in a region where nearly all hospitals are damaged or non-functional
-
Mental health support for over 27,000 people coping with unimaginable trauma
-
Emergency funding for a mother and child clinic that can provide critical care for 4,000 displaced women and children each month
But the need is still urgent. Famine is worsening, there are no fully functioning hospitals and there is zero stock for over half of essential medicines.
Please, will you make a $125 gift today to help continue this lifesaving work in Gaza and other crisis zones around the world? |
