I wanted to make sure you saw this, John:
The U.S. military is a major climate polluter, pumping out more planet-warming emissions than entire countries. And air shows aren't helping — they burn through thousands of gallons of jet fuel while serving up a few minutes of jingoistic "entertainment."
With the climate crisis worsening, and militarism rising, the last thing we need are more climate-wrecking, war-glorifying air shows.

Hi John,
The planet is burning up, and the U.S. military is throwing fuel on the fire by putting on climate-wrecking air shows.
Military air shows burn thousands of gallons of jet fuel and pump tons of planet-warming emissions into our atmosphere — all for a few minutes of entertainment. They also glorify war at a time when militarism is ramping up dangerously around the world.
That’s why we’ve joined forces with Veterans for Peace to demand that the Air Force and Navy cancel climate-wrecking air shows. John, can you add your name to our petition?
Air shows like those put on by the Blue Angels bill themselves as free entertainment. But their true cost is much steeper. The U.S. military is a major contributor to the climate crisis — it pumps out more climate pollution than entire countries.1
A single fighter jet burns more than 1,200 gallons of jet fuel per hour, and air shows showcase an entire squadron of them.
Air shows have also long served as a tool of pro-war propaganda and to boost recruitment for the military. As the planet heats up, and militarism ramps up, it’s time to draw public attention to the anti-climate and pro-war impacts of air shows.
