** Neighborhood Resources Update
------------------------------------------------------------
Housing & Neighborhood Services has updated its neighborhood resources to provide stronger, more coordinated support for resident leaders and community-based organizations. The Neighborhood Leadership Academy is a new training initiative ([link removed]) that equips community leaders with the knowledge and skills they need to build stronger organizations and increase civic participation. Through this program, participants gain knowledge in areas such as governance, community engagement, and project planning – skills that directly support neighborhood stability and long-term resident leadership.
In addition, the department also restructured its grant-making into
Community Impact Grants ([link removed]) , which streamline existing programs and expand funding opportunities for neighborhoods and small nonprofits. These grants support a broad range of community-centered projects that are designed to improve quality of life and strengthen neighborhood connections, such as health fairs, cleanups, signage installations, and green initiatives. Organized into three clear categories, the program provides accessible guidelines and greater flexibility for local groups to bring their ideas to life. Residents can use the Community Impact Grants Comparison Chart ([link removed]) to help determine which grant best fits their community needs.
More information about these and other neighborhood resources can be found on the city’s
Get Involved web page ([link removed]) .
