A recent Israeli military offensive has forced hundreds of thousands of
Palestinians to evacuate Gaza City.
Dear friend,
Yesterday marked two years since the deadly and horrific attack on Israel
by Hamas. The humanitarian catastrophe unleashed on Gaza has spiraled to
historic proportions: two years of relentless displacement, devastation,
violence, and now famine.
Today, Gaza is in ruins: essential infrastructure — homes, hospitals,
schools, and water systems — have been damaged or destroyed.
This year alone, people in Gaza City have endured over 60 evacuations and
over 400,000 have already fled Gaza City in recent weeks as a military
offensive continues. Families who have fled countless times are being
pushed into overcrowded areas where there is no food, no medicine, no
clean water, and no safety.
People in Gaza are losing what little hope in humanity they have left.
Children are growing up knowing nothing but fear and deprivation, while
parents make impossible choices just to try to keep them alive.
Our teams on the ground have shared some of their experiences as they
continue to provide support and care with courage and humanity. One
staffer in Gaza, Marah, said:
"This will be my sixth displacement, and each time the experience
becomes harder than the one before. Resources are decreasing, streets
are being destroyed, cars and transportation are disappearing and even
shelters no longer exist. There is no place left for people. Homes are
vanishing, the land is shrinking more and more, and we have nowhere to
stay. It’s so hard, harder than ever before."

Heavily damaged wells and infrastructure have caused a severe water
crisis. Palestinians rush to fill jugs of drinking water from a water
truck in southern Gaza.
For people like Marah, Gaza is unlivable. Displaced families are living
amidst rubble, with little to no food, clean water, or medical care. More
than 64,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 160,000 injured.
Every day, our teams are tirelessly working alongside partner
organizations to reach families with lifesaving aid. Since October 2023,
we’ve reached more than 385,000 people with emergency support, including
food, cash, hygiene supplies, clean water, shelter kits, and psychosocial
assistance. Since June 2025, we’ve provided safe drinking water to over
4,500 displaced people who don’t have access to clean, safe drinking
water.
But urgent action is
needed to save lives. This is a man-made crisis — and it can be stopped.
It is long past time for the international community and all those with
the influence and power to take action: to achieve a lasting ceasefire; to
return the hostages to their families; to restore life-sustaining services
to Gaza; and to facilitate safe, sustained access to aid for millions.
