Hi friend,

September was a busy month, and I am so proud of the work we accomplished together. Here are a few of the highlights from my time both in Washington and here at home in New Jersey.

I began the month at a community parade to celebrate Labor Day. It was a reminder that working people are the backbone of this country, and that our fight for fair wages and dignity in the workplace is ongoing.

I visited South Hackensack, where I spoke with families about the issues they are facing every day. Meeting constituents where they are, and hearing from them directly, is how I guide my work in Congress.

With our diverse community, we had many moments of celebration this month. I celebrated Mexican Independence Day and Guatemalan Independence Day with our Latino communities, honoring their culture, history, and enormous contributions to New Jersey.

I spoke at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

In Congress, I fought to keep the government open and protect your health care. I also worked on legislation to address spiking energy prices, which are the direct result of Republican culture wars that are forcing clean energy projects to close.

At home, I joined our community in remembering the lives lost on 9/11 and honoring the resilience of New Jersey families who still carry those memories. I also worked with local officials to address the Paterson fire hazard, because public safety begins with prevention.

But here’s the truth: keeping this level of work going takes resources. If we want every person in NJ-09 to hear directly from me and to know what I stand for, we need a campaign strong enough to go toe-to-toe with the outside money pouring into this district. [[link removed]]
