John, you won't ever hear me say this, but I really mean it today: I am ready to go back to Washington, D.C.
Vermont is home. Washington is where I work. Like all of you, I relish time spent at home with my family during the weekend.
But right now, our government is still shut down. We need to get back to Washington so we can get back to work for the American people — like protecting the rule of law and access to health care.
Yet, Speaker Johnson keeps canceling votes again, and again, and again.
Because not only do Republicans refuse to negotiate with Democrats, they also don't want to swear in Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva, who would be the final vote needed to force the release of the Epstein Files.
It's ridiculous.
Until we can get back to Washington, I won't stop doing everything I can to advocate for Vermonters and ensure the American people know who's really to blame for this mess.
Thank you.
