VIDEO OF THE DAY: Pam Bondi BOMBS in pathetic performance before Senate

The attorney general of the United States put on a historically awful and utterly disqualifying performance before the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday, refusing to answer simple question after simple question as she ran nakedly partisan interference for Donald Trump. America's wannabe dictator finally has a servile lapdog installed at the helm of the Department of Justice, and she is doing a bang-up job consistently putting his interests ahead of the American people's. It is so good to be great again.

Take Action: Impeach Pam Bondi for attacking our constitutional rights!

Texas National Guard troops arrive in Chicago amid Trump's authoritarian crackdown
Imagine, for a moment, the Texas-sized tantrums Republicans like Gov. Greg Abbott and Sen. Ted Cruz would be throwing if ANY other state in the union deployed their National Guard troops anywhere inside the Lone Star State against their wishes. We've long since stopped quantifying levels of hypocrisy in the GOP, for no tool exists to measure something without bounds, but Trump's latest authoritarian power grab and Texas' guileless complicity in trampling all over Illinois' state sovereignty is truly noteworthy. History, should impartial written record survive, will not be kind.

Democrats introduce bill to help federal workers cover childcare costs during shutdown
With the Trump shutdown entering its second week and Republicans still refusing to budge on extending healthcare subsidies for millions of Americans, Democrats are putting their heads down and introducing legislation actually designed to help the people for whom they work. House Democrats are introducing a bill to provide childcare relief to federal workers affected by the MAGA cult leader's heartless and self-defeating shutdown. Any federal employee who has been furloughed, or remains working through the shutdown without pay, would be entitled to support under the Federal Worker Childcare Protection Act of 2025. Sure, there are plenty of things to frown about when it comes to Democrats, but the two parties are NOT the same.

Mike Johnson gives embarrassing Super Bowl halftime show suggestion
House speaker and man with his finger firmly on the pulse of American culture Mike Johnson will have you know that he is NOT on board with world superstar Bad Bunny performing at next year's Super Bowl, thank you very much. Speaking to reporters yesterday while not doing his job running a functioning government, Johnson had this to say: "I didn't even know who Bad Bunny was, but it sounds like a terrible decision, in my view." A perfect distillation of EVERYTHING the modern Republican Party stands for: "It's different, I'm unfamiliar, I hate it." Johnson then went on to suggest that, for the sake of all the young, impressionable eyes and ears that will be glued to television sets around the country, the NFL should ditch 31-year-old Bad Bunny and his 100 BILLION streams on Spotify for...Lee Greenwood, an 82-year-old man who has been married FIVE times and got himself into some fine trouble a few years ago hawking "God Bless the USA" Bibles with the vapid lyrics to his silly song scribbled alongside Judeo-Christianity's most sacred text. Beyond parody, Mike.

MAGA moron Benny Johnson mocked for bragging about Kristi Noem staring down "army of Antifa" in Portland, which turned out to be a man in a chicken costume and a dozen other people

A real-life episode of "Portlandia" unwittingly wrote itself yesterday as ICE Barbie Kristi Noem swooped into town for a pathetic rooftop photo op meant to show just how much business she really means. We all know she's a puppy killer, but did you know she also stands up to chickens? Flanked by MAGA influencer and sentient festering boil Benny Johnson, who just days ago posted an AI-generated video of him dressed as Batman beating up people wearing sombreros and ponchos (it's funny because they're Brown!), Noem strutted around a Portland rooftop looking faux-tough AF and fake-surveying the scene as an unidentified man in military garb pointed out a dozen or so peaceful protesters gathered outside an ICE facility, including a man in a chicken costume. Just look at the size of that army?! Truly terrifying stuff unfolding on the streets of Portland, people.

ICE agents pepper-ball priests in the head, laugh in their faces
Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area US Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray. "I invited them to repentance," said Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church. But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire. "We could hear them laughing," Black said. America, y'all.

Jesse Watters' masked "Antifa whistleblower" looks and sounds suspiciously similar to his masked "former Mexican mafia member"

The take-away here isn't just how indifferent Jesse Watters and his handlers at Fox News are when it comes to adhering to any journalistic standards whatsoever, but rather just how little they think of their audience. The disdain required to be this lazy while feeding propaganda slop to your own viewers is astonishing, and deeply disturbing.

Pope Leo delivers blunt message to US bishops on Trump's immigration policies
Pope Leo told US bishops visiting him at the Vatican on Wednesday that they should firmly address how immigrants are being treated by Donald Trump's hardline policies, attendees said, in the latest push by the pontiff for Catholic leaders to put their faith front and center on the issue. Leo, the first US-born pope, has shown a much more reserved style than his predecessor, Pope Francis, but has ramped up his criticism of the MAGA cult leader's immoral assault on decency in the name of reining in illegal immigration.

Glacier melt will lead to ice-free peaks in California for first time in human history
Cool, cool, cool. Let's definitely continue doing nearly nothing to confront the seismic ecological catastrophe unfolding before all our eyes.

Argentinian President Javier Milei, who just received a $20 BILLION bailout from American taxpayers, cosplays rock star to help promote new book and his own re-election

Wait, did we just foot the bill for a fucking arena concert for Trump's idiot ally and failed Mick Jagger impersonator Javier Milei in Argentina? Days after the Trump regime anounced a $20 BILLION bailout for Milei's failed government, the leather-clad, far-right populist appeared on stage before 15,000 "fans" and performed a nine-song set — in the middle of a severe austerity campaign that has sent the nation of 45 million into economic freefall. America First, y'all!
