CSVANW Hosts 10th Annual I Will Run for Them 5K Honoring Native Survivors and Cycle Breakers
ALBUQUERQUE, NM — The Coalition to Stop Violence Against Native Women (CSVANW) invites community members, organizations, and advocates to the 10th Annual I Will Run for Them 5K on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Isleta Lakes and RV Park. This annual run and walk takes place each October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) and honors the strength, resiliency, and spirit of Native survivors, families, and loved ones impacted by domestic and sexual violence.
“Running is healing. Movement is medicine. Our communities are experiencing an imbalance, and we need space to heal, so we can honor the beauty of our relatives’ resiliency,” said CSVANW Executive Director, Tiffany Jiron.
Since its founding in 2016, I Will Run for Them has become a powerful space for survivors and cycle-breakers to come together in movement and remembrance. Each step honors our mothers, sisters, daughters, men and all relatives who continue to resist violence and fight for safety, dignity, and wellness.

- 4 out of 5 Native women will experience violence in their lifetime.
- 1 in 10 men in the U.S. experience IPV-related sexual or physical violence.
These are not just statistics; they reflect the lived realities of our communities. This run is about more than miles; it’s about healing, honoring, and reclaiming balance.

- Time: 8AM (check-in opens at 7:00 AM)
- Registration is closed. Onsite registration will be available.
Participants are invited to dedicate their run, jog, or walk to survivors, loved ones, and relatives we’ve lost. Whether joining in-person or virtually, each step is a commitment to healing and ending violence in our Native communities in New Mexico.
All proceeds support CSVANW’s year-round work across 23 Tribal communities in New Mexico, advocating for survivors, educating youth, and building safer communities rooted in culture and collective care.
