Dear John,
It’s always a pleasure to hear from you and your neighbors in Harney County about the issues most important to your community. Feedback and ideas from constituents like you are vital to my work, and I thank the Harney community for taking the time to log on or dial in to my remote town hall last week to engage in an important discussion about our nation’s future.
We talked about a wide variety of topics, including the urgency of getting more relief to Oregonians in the face of the economic fallout of the coronavirus crisis, keeping agricultural workers safe from the pandemic, and the important work of ensuring that the bells of freedom ring for every American -- regardless of the color of their skin.
Our “We the People” democracy is at its strongest when every American is able to make their voice heard, which is why I’m committed to holding a town hall in each of Oregon’s 36 counties every single year. I kicked off this year with my 397th town hall meeting, and look forward to connecting with more Oregonians as I continue my 12th annual town hall tour.
Please know that I always keep the thoughts and perspectives shared at town halls in mind as I work to represent Oregon in the U.S. Senate. That’s why I've worked to invest in rural broadband, legalize hemp as an agricultural commodity, and create a program to help finance local water infrastructure improvements. I hope you will continue to share your thoughts with me over the phone or by sending a message through my website.
To learn more about this town hall or any future events, or to learn more about any of the topics we discussed, please visit my website and stay engaged on Twitter. You can also like my Facebook page and follow me on Instagram for a look behind the scenes!
All my best, Jeff
