After Dana's victory in the Democratic primary, the momentum is on our side -- and people are starting to take notice.
The Cook Political Report -- a top nonpartisan election forecaster -- recently upgraded our race from “Likely Republican” to “Lean Republican.” We’re now just one step away from pure “tossup” status. This is a sign that our campaign to bring a proven progressive voice to Washington is one of the most competitive in the country.
From the moment Dana announced her candidacy last April, special interests have tried to put forth a narrative that she couldn't win. That a campaign which spoke honestly to voters and refused corporate PAC money couldn't compete with John Katko's deep pockets.
With national pundits upgrading our race and polls showing the general election is a dead heat, it's clear that narrative is falling apart.
With NY-24 increasingly visible as a top-tier House race, we know that John Katko's GOP allies and the dark money groups that want him in office will spend heavily to keep this seat.
It's up to our grassroots supporters to show that our momentum isn't slowing down -- and to show that we can fight back when the inevitable attacks on Dana start.
