John,

Abortion advocates believe in the power of prayer.

If prayer wasn't effective, abortion supporters wouldn't work so hard to restrict, ban, disparage, and mock 40 Days for Life.

The latest example comes from New Mexico, where Pro Choice Las Cruces ripped off our logo to call for "40 Days for Choice."

The vandalized logo even twisted our tagline, "The Beginning of the End of Abortion," into "The Beginning of the End of Opression" [sic].

Next time Pro Choice Las Cruces decides to steal someone's intellectual property, maybe it could at least run the spell-checker before posting!

Imitation is flattery, but we are taking legal action to protect our trademarked logo and mission.

Abortion backers in Las Cruces are right to be concerned about 40 Days for Life. Longtime campaign leader Mark Cavaliere's peaceful prayer vigils have helped close NUMEROUS abortion facilities in the area...

...and with abortion numbers declining in New Mexico--in spite of abortion-friendly laws--perhaps more are on the way!

Former Planned Parenthood manager Ramona Trevino recently visited the Land of 10,000 Lakes, where around 70 pro-lifers joined her to pray.

The crowd included a number of brand-new 40 Days for Life participants.

"One woman gave me a tearful hug as I departed," Ramona recalled. "She thanked me for sharing my testimony and for inspiring her to join the vigil. It was her very first time out on the sidewalk, and she voiced her intention to return!"

Ramona was also surprised to encounter such a positive response from the greater community in a college town. "There was a lot of public support from those passing by. Lots of waves, honks, and thumbs-up from folks of all ages."

Becky organizes a 40 Days for Life vigil in front of a CVS pharmacy, and she's also finding success getting prayer warriors out to pray.

A recent 40 Days for Life leader workshop in New England inspired Becky to call everybody on her list of more than 200 prospective volunteers to invite them to commit to time on the sidewalk.

"It's been a positive response so far, with new volunteers coming out this week," she said. "A ... woman new to Claremont signed up on the website for two hours each Friday. She ... was excited to find us."

His mother said to the servers, "Do whatever he tells you."

--John 2:5

Lord Jesus, you have used water for wine and mud to make a blind man see. Please use me as your instrument on earth. Let others feel your compassion when I encounter them. Let your work be done through my hands. Please let me especially care for mothers and their unborn children with the faith that always desires to lead people to your side.

For life,

Shawn Carney
