Reuters: US judge blocks Trump from sending any National Guard troops to Portland for now

Over the weekend, a Trump-appointed federal judge BLOCKED the president from sending troops to Portland.

This ruling confirms what I’ve been saying all along: we didn’t ask for this and we don’t need this.

Again and again, we’ve seen Trump try to pit Americans against Americans by sending troops into our cities. That is simply un-American.

I’m continuing to do everything I can to stand up to the president’s abuse of power and protect our community. If you’re with me, I’d appreciate your support today to help me fight back against Trump and stand up for Oregon.

This attack on Oregon comes just months after the president deployed the National Guard in Los Angeles and in our nation’s capital.

Now, he’s trying to use the National Guard as his toy soldiers AGAIN by sending them into Portland. We won’t accept this cowardly abuse of power.

I’ve held 18 town halls across Oregon’s 5th District this year and met with over 42,000 constituents. Not once has anyone said we need Trump to send troops into our city.

That’s why I’m standing up for Oregonians and pushing back on Trump’s attacks. I’m fighting to stop the president from deploying troops in Portland and to keep our community safe.
