I’m not sitting back.
FIRST: Donald Trump deployed the National Guard to D.C. and took control of the local police, escalating his dystopian and dangerous politicization of our military.
THEN: He quickly announced plans to do the same in other major cities across our country.
NOW: Donald Trump is attempting to deploy the National Guard to Portland and Chicago under the false pretense that these cities are war zones.
That is a lie.
And yet, his crooks and cronies are urging him to ignore a federal ruling that blocked this abuse of power. If Trump really cared about law and order, he’d stop acting like the law doesn’t apply to him.
This is the kind of behavior we expect from authoritarians — not presidents. And unlike Republican politicians in Washington, I’m not sitting back. Will you pitch in $5 or whatever you can to help me continue speaking out and holding Donald Trump accountable?
I co-sponsored the SUN Act, legislation that brings transparency and accountability to any deployment of the National Guard onto our streets.
I’m sounding the alarm online, on TV, and across Delaware.
And I’m doing everything I can to help defeat Trump’s enablers in Congress, take back the House, and stop this chaos.
But I can’t do it alone.
While Donald Trump has right-wing billionaires on his side, I’m counting on everyday people who believe in democracy — people like you — to power our fight.
If you’re with me in saying no to authoritarianism in America, chip in $5 or whatever you can now.
