Ya’ll, We’re ONE MONTH out from election day. This November is critical because Georgians will finally have the opportunity to speak up about their utility bills. Year after year, Georgia’s all-Republican Public Service Commission (PSC) has repeatedly thrown Georgians under the bus to boost the profits of powerful utility companies. These commissioners approved six separate rate hikes that increased the average power bill for Georgians by $43 a month. Meanwhile, Georgians are tightening their wallets as the rising costs of rent and groceries weigh on us all. Right now, we have a real chance to elect new leadership that will put Georgia ratepayers first. Democrats Peter Hubbard and Dr. Alicia Johnson are running to lower costs and protect consumers — not corporate profits — and they need our help to reach voters and drive turnout.
