Hi -

We know there's quite *a lot going on at the moment*. So to keep you informed and help set the record straight, we've got a quick recap of the latest fights we're up against and what's to come.

Here's what you need to know:

Planned Parenthood "defund"

Over the summer, President Trump signed an unconstitutional law to "defund" Planned Parenthood, trying to block patients from using Medicaid insurance at Planned Parenthood health centers. We immediately jumped into action and sued the Trump administration to protect patients' access to get birth control, STI testing and treatment, cancer screenings, and more.

While we got temporary relief from a lower court, just last month, a federal appeals court ruled in the Trump administration's favor, meaning patients may not be able to use Medicaid insurance for critical health services at Planned Parenthood health centers.

What's Next: Care for more than 1.1 million patients is in limbo. This attack on care by the Trump administration has already led to Planned Parenthood health center closures in states across the country -- and could result in as many as 200 Planned Parenthood health centers shutting down.

We're doing everything we can to fight back against this unconstitutional law, make sure Planned Parenthood health centers across the country remain open, and protect patients' access to the care and resources they need. We'll keep you up to date as the case continues.

Attacks on Title X

Title X is the nation's only federal program dedicated to providing affordable birth control, cancer screenings, and other sexual and reproductive health care to people with low incomes. In 2023 alone, there were more than 1.5 million visits to Title X-funded Planned Parenthood health centers.

For more than 50 years, Planned Parenthood health centers have been proud participants in the Title X program -- except when the first Trump administration forced out health centers.

But earlier this year, the Trump administration -- with the support of his billionaire backers like Elon Musk -- unlawfully withheld millions of dollars of Title X family planning funds from Planned Parenthood health centers. The loss of that critical funding resulted in the closure of Planned Parenthood health centers, cutting patients' access to services like cancer screening, birth control, and other essential sexual and reproductive health care.

What's Next: The attacks on Title X are likely not over. At his confirmation hearing, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. gave his support to reinstating the domestic "gag" rule, a policy implemented during the first Trump administration that required health care providers to withhold information about pregnancy options from patients, including that a patient could safely and legally access abortion.

No matter what happens next, we will continue to work to make sure everyone, no matter where they live or how much money they make, has the freedom to control their own body, life, and future -- and we need you with us. We'll stay in touch with the latest on Title X.
