Hi there,
Last fall, more than 150 college students from Boston and New York City gave up their weekend, piled onto Swing Left buses, and went to knock on doors for three days in some of the most competitive swing districts in the country—and something clicked.
After that weekend, more than one student told us they were “hooked for life.” They saw firsthand how one conversation at the door could make an impact with a voter—and how those moments can add up to victories in some of the most important swing districts in the country. Now, they’re determined to stay involved and keep showing up where it matters most.
That’s why they’re already planning to get back on the buses and head south to knock doors for Democrats in Virginia in the next few weeks. They know that blue state-level power is a critical xxxxxx against Trump’s national agenda—and that what happens in Virginia’s statewide elections this year will be an important bellwether for what happens all over the country next year.
We want to do everything we can to support the important work these dedicated students are doing. But in order to get to Virginia, they need our support to cover the cost of bus rentals, gas, some snacks, and a place to hit the pillow after a long day of talking to voters.
That’s why we’ve set a goal of raising $11,000 to make these trips possible, and we’re asking for your support to help us reach it. Will you make a donation of $25 today to help us get these college students to Virginia?
Here’s what one student from Columbia University had to say about why they want to knock doors in Virginia:
“After three years of Republicans controlling the governor’s office with Glenn Youngkin, it’s clear that Virginia deserves better. Rather than continuing with tired and ineffective policies that Republicans push, I firmly believe in Spanberger and her legislative agenda. She’s here to invest in schools and small businesses, and I’m here for her!” |
With everything from the governor’s office to control of the legislature on the line, these students are ready to spend long days canvassing and talking to voters about the issues that matter most.
As a former College Democrats leader and campus organizer myself, I’m incredibly inspired by their energy and their readiness to step up and do their part—and I want to make sure this community does everything in our power to make sure they can.
Thank you for everything you do,
