The State Senate is back in session, and make no mistake: we are at a crossroads. Nonprofits, schools, and service providers across Pennsylvania are warning that layoffs, program cuts, and closures are inevitable unless we pass a budget — and soon. 

They’re already feeling the pain: some agencies have cut staff, others are working without pay, and many are teetering on the brink. These aren’t abstract numbers — these are your neighbors, your communities, your friends. 

We cannot let this drag on. Families depend on these services. Children deserve stable classrooms. Seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income households deserve support — not silence.

So entering this session, I’m focused on fighting to pass a fair budget that fully funds essential services and protects nonprofits, schools, and community organizations from collapse.

This budget is about showing the people that their voices still matter, and that we’re not giving up on them. If you believe in the promise of Pennsylvania — that we take care of our most vulnerable, invest in our future, and don’t abandon communities — I hope you’ll stand with me.
