We’re one week into the Republican government shutdown and they are still nowhere in sight.

Where are House Republicans? Speaker Johnson sent them home early — effectively shutting the government down. Meanwhile, my Democratic colleagues and I were in DC last week ready to fund the government so that real people and federal workers wouldn’t get hurt.

We deserve better than this.
