Team,

During Earth Month last year, we celebrated a major victory for wildlife conservation, indigenous land management, and climate change mitigation: the Public Lands Rule.

The Public Lands Rule finally put conservation at the same level of importance as drilling, mining, and extraction for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) criteria on land use decisions. This was a major step for modernizing the BLM's approach to land use to keep it balanced and sustainable.

But the Trump Administration is tearing down our hard-fought climate progress one step at a time, and this rule is the next on their chopping block.

Public comments are open on the Public Lands Rule, and we need every environmental advocate to speak up loud enough that Trump can't ignore us. EnviroVoters is collecting signatures on a public comment right now—will you add your name?

The Public Lands Rule is a science-based approach to land management that's supported by lawmakers, indigenous tribes, scientists, businesses, and outdoor recreation enjoyers. By weighing ecological health equally with other land uses, this rule preserves the long-term health of our country's lands so that future generations can continue to benefit from them.

By getting rid of the Public Lands Rule, the Trump Administration would give away our irreplaceable public lands to drilling, mining, and development—even lands right on the edge of national parks like Sequoia and Kings Canyon.

When it was first put in place, 92% of public comments were in favor of this rule. Now it's time to remind Trump that this rule is supported by the vast majority of Americans by signing your name to the EnviroVoters public comment.

Want to take the next step to protect the Public Lands Rule? Submit a personal comment directly to the BLM with your thoughts, stories, and reasons for defending public lands using this online form: [link removed]

Thanks for being part of this movement and taking steps with us to protect and preserve our precious outdoor spaces.
