Dad is not a politician. When we were growing up, we knew dad as a businessman. He took over my grandpa’s family business, the same one my big brother Warren works at now.
Dad always made and still makes family a priority. Growing up, we had family meals around the table. He knew if he got into politics while we were young, he’d have to sacrifice time away from us. So he waited to heed a calling of service until my youngest sister was a senior in college. It wasn’t until then, when we were all out of the house, that he ran for State House.
Dad uses every opportunity he can as a learning experience for my kids and the rest of his 17 grandkids. Whether it’s using his garden to teach our kids the value of hard work or taking our kids to the floor in the House of Representatives to show them how the voting process works, he puts his all into every moment.
You see, my dad isn’t in this race for governor for himself. He’s never been in any of his jobs for his own interests. He sees every opportunity as a chance to serve others—to serve his country, our state, and our community.
Dad talks to constituents and voters all of the time because he wants to make sure he’s doing right by them. He’s in Congress to serve selflessly and it’ll be the same in Columbia.
If you want to see a leader who fights for what’s right, never backs down, and serves others well, I’m asking you to support my dad. If you’re able to chip in even $10 or more today, it’ll go a long way.
Thank you in advance for being part of our team.
Thanks,
Anne
