A Message from Gabe:
Dear Mr. xxxxxx,
Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans' policies have shuttered the federal government for the last seven days. Their policies will raise health care costs for 22 million Americans, including about 40,000 Rhode Islanders. Since Trump took office and Republicans took control of the House and the Senate, more than $1 trillion was taken from America’s health care system in their Big, Ugly Law. Taken together, Republicans' policies will cause irreparable harm to the health care and well being of all Rhode Islanders, leaving us sicker and poorer.

Trump and Republicans' policies shut down the government and put essential services Rhode Islanders rely on in jeopardy. The Small Business Administration is not processing new business loans, Social Security services such as benefit verifications have been disrupted, customer service wait times are expected to be longer with reduced staff, and replacement of Medicare cards has stopped. Our troops and federal law enforcement officers who keep our nation safe and communities protected are being asked to work without pay.
