John
We are now more than a week into the Schumer Shutdown. Democrats are still demanding the full unwinding of the One Big Beautiful Bill and billions of dollars in new subsidies for the oddly named, “Affordable Care Act.” Clearly, that is a non-starter.
Have you noticed that Democrats each year need yet another federal tax subsidy to slow the skyrocketing costs of health insurance? Maybe Democrats should rethink the name of their “Affordable” Care Act, because it is clearly NOT affordable.
We have voted multiple times on the House-passed bill to re-open the government with no strings attached. The government could re-open today, if only a handful of Democrats in the Senate would vote to re-open the government at the current-year spending rates and drop their irrational demands for billions in new spending to keep the government open for a few weeks.
I have worked for years to take government shutdown threats off the table forever. When Congress can’t agree, the consequences should be on us and our families, not federal workers, members of the military, and their families. I will continue to press my Prevent Government Shutdowns Act to hold Congress responsible for failing to fund the government.
This week, we will confirm more than 100 of President Trump’s nominees under the new process for confirmation that we changed two weeks ago. By Wednesday, there will no longer be a backlog for the President’s nominees—Finally.
Here are some of my local Oklahoma interviews regarding the government shutdown and the ongoing negotiations:

Please keep praying for the nation. No problem is bigger than God.
