3 reasons to enjoy nature this month
Need an excuse to hit the pause button, step outdoors and soak in the beauty of nature? Look no further:
1. Park events are at their peak! Put on your favorite costume and join us for a Halloween event, where you can trick-or-treat in a spooky campground, experience a haunted hayrack ride or compete in a pumpkin roll. Find additional events on our calendar.
2. It's a great time to go fishing. All month, rainbow trout are being stocked from one end of the state to the other. Get out there and harvest your own! Not to mention, as the weather cools, fishing in general will heat up.
3. Fall color = amazing hiking opportunities. According to forecasts, Nebraska will boast incredible fall color this year. Get out and see it with the Trail Trek challenge! You'll get to explore trails across the state, enter prize drawings — and soak in the stunning foliage.
Don’t have a state park entry or fishing permit? No problem! Low-cost 1-day permits (or an annual permits) are available on our website. You can learn more about fishing opportunities and your Nebraska state parks there as well.
