URGENT ALERT: Farm Sanctuary just rescued two neglected sheep. Your emergency gift today will give Mee-maw and Bah the critical care and assistance they need!
Dear John,
Farm Sanctuary recently received a call about two elderly sheep—Mee-maw and Bah—who were found abandoned on a property in Agua Dulce, California. On September 30, we dispatched a team that brought the frightened animals to our Acton sanctuary.
I’m writing to share with you, as our supporter, a behind-the-scenes look at this unfolding rescue. Before I tell you more about their journey, I hope you’ll open your heart to help these gentle sheep. It’s your generosity that allows us to come to the aid of once-forgotten animals like Mee-maw and Bah.
Mee-maw’s condition was very concerning. She was in extreme pain due to an untreated hoof infection and severely overgrown hooves, which forced her to walk on her knees.
We quickly trimmed her hooves, started her on antibiotics and pain medication, and are cleaning and bandaging her infected leg every day.
It’s too early to say what Mee-maw’s future holds, but for now she’s safe and comfortable and our vets are monitoring her closely. It helps that she has her best friend, Bah, by her side. Mee-maw and Bah are closely bonded and are emotionally supporting each other as they settle into their new home.
These sheep arrived at Farm Sanctuary just two days before World Farm Animals Day. Their presence is a reminder that we need to be there for farm animals every day—to rescue, care, shelter, and advocate for them—and we cannot do that without you.
Thank you in advance for your swift and generous response today.
