The RSVP list for Ana’s Farewell Celebration on October 25 is growing! What a great way to honor Ana Garcia-Ashley, Gamaliel Executive Director, who will be retiring at the end of 2025 . . . ! She has been a courageous and tireless champion for justice for more than 35 years! We would love to have you join us in person in Chicago, but we also have a virtual option for those who cannot.

(Details for the physical location and for the Zoom link will be provided when you register.) See you in Chicago—in person or virtually—on October 25!

The Executive Director for an organizing network like Gamaliel has tremendous demands made on her time and energy. Ana has successfully managed to provide great leadership to this Network, as well as to have a rich family life. These images give you a “peek” into her extended family, some of whom live near her in the Atlanta area and others who live in other parts of the U.S. and in the Dominican Republic. Thanks to Eric Ashley, Ana’s husband, and her daughter, Alex Ashley, for sharing these photos.

Invest in The Future of Organizing in Honor of Ana Garcia-Ashley |
On the occasion of Ana Garcia-Ashley’s retirement, Gamaliel has established the Ana Garcia-Ashley Fund for the Future of Organizing. This fund will support work that carries forward the passionate and powerful organizing for which Ana is known: developing leaders and building powerful, democratic organizations that move us toward creation of the beloved community in our cities, states, and nation. Having served as an Executive Director in MICAH-Milwaukee, WISDOM-Wisconsin, and now with Gamaliel, she understands the importance of raising unrestricted funds so that the money may be used where it is most needed and effective. The Future of Organizing Fund will be administered by the Gamaliel Board of Directors.
